Zoran Paovic - Director
Arriving here with but the carry-on bag in his hands, he worked his way up from ambitious clerk at a small convenience store to saving up and purchasing his own cleaning business (now very successful) to being able to secure the equipment needed to continue his passion launching his own video production house. The quality and uniqueness of his media style for local weddings and events garnishes him with much respect and keeps him booked months in advance.
Zoran is one of the original organizers and proponents of LandAid as his passion for aiding ‘those in need’ and his penchant for recognizing ‘essential things that just plain need to be done’ stems from a poignant upbringing as the son of a prominent and respected Serbian politician. Zoran’s dad, Jordan Paovic, was the only politician in Serbia, from this generation, loved and respected by both the rich and the poor. Twice-elected (8 years) President of the Negotin Labor Union, it was through honesty and integrity that he was able to successfully bridge and stabilize concerns and issues that kept local industry progressing despite escalating civil unrest. It is this ‘looking out for the other guy’ and ‘persevering with what needs to be done’ attitude that inspires Zoran to action with LandAid. There are many attributes and perspectives he brings to this project by virtue of his history and proximity to such advanced politics as from his nation of origin. He is a seasoned and valuable part of this initiative – clear thinking, progressive, realistic – genuine. We are fortunate to have him.
