  • We have officially launched ‘nationally’ through the Adelaide Royal Show making a commendable showing there, bringing attention, endorsement and support to LandAid.

  • LandAid was nominated for an Exhibitor’s Award during the Royal Show.

  • Our goals and mission have been acknowledged in an article written by The Stock Journal.

  • We have secured confirmation from the Adelaide Showgrounds to organise and produce a ‘concert series’ for the 2012 Adelaide Royal Show.  LandAid has enlisted the expertise of Mr Tony Savage and SavageDog to this end.

  • Subsequent to the Royal Show, we have identified several worthwhile and vital projects for LandAid to cut our teeth with in 2012.  There will be updated information regarding these projects as we commence work.

LandAid National Launch

LandAid National Launch

Adelaide Royal Show

September 2-10, 2011

Five years ago the concept of LandAid was born when a brave and proud family, uprooted from a farm they couldn’t even sell, arrived at the door of one of our directors with but what their ute would carry.  This prompted the director to ask ‘why’…?  Why did such hardships happen?  Why could nothing be done to avoid such tragedies?  Why had no one taken the first step to look after rural communities – the very life blood of regions like this one - in the throes of disaster?

The strength and pride of this family inspired a few good folks to take that first step, becoming LandAid.  We then took the next step… and the next… and the next… finally arriving where we are today - at the launch pad - committed to helping rural communities look after themselves and their own when hard times happen.

This September - at the 2011 Adelaide Royal Show - LandAid launches nationally, announcing our presence and commitment to helping unify, restore and perpetuate rural communities ravaged by fire, flood, drought, earthquake, social or economical disasters.  Sponsored by the Adelaide Showgrounds and the generosity of organizations and individuals sharing LandAid’s mission, we begin interacting with the public, interfacing and listening to the unique needs and concerns of everyone stopping by our booth located in the Farm Expo area of the Royal Show.

Along with collecting and exchanging information, we will be showcasing programs LandAid already has underway aimed at helping rural communities, and every person therein, glean prudent support and information.  These programs include: a unique rural counseling service called ‘MatesLine’, and aid in sourcing prudent grants possibilities (‘GrantSource’) for all things ‘community’ in nature.

LandAid’s determination to shoulder-up alongside not only challenged communities, but as well sister charities and organizations, is exemplified in the possibility our teaming up with the Australian Lions Club at this year’s Show.  It is this ‘let’s all push the same direction’ attitude that will enable LandAid projects to be affecting and successful as we move from the launch pad of the Royal Show out into all the possibilities and triumphs of a world needing all the help we can give.  Along the way, mountains will be moved.

We look forward to seeing you September 2-10 in the Farm Expo area the 2011 Adelaide Royal Show.  Stop by and say ‘hi’.
